The Court concluded that the drugs, differently positioned for specific types of pain, such as migraine, back pain and others, are completely identical. All of them contain a standard quantity of active material - ibuprofen.

It was found that each different medical drug is not more effective than any other of the same product line is. However, they are sold at a price twice as high as cost of a standard pill branded "Nurofen."

Federal Court of Australia said that the products must be withdrawn from pharmacies shelves in Australia in three months. The court ruling is valid only in Australia and will not be applied in other countries, says BBC News.

The British company Reckitt Benckiser agreed with the court’s conclusions, yet denied attempts to mislead consumers by means of packaging.

Reckitt Benckiser, specializing in production of home goods, health care and personal hygiene products, such as Clearasil, Dettol, Dosia, Durex, Finish, also produces pharmaceuticals "Nurofen", "Gaviscon," "Valium".
