The conversation is currently taking place with the participation of US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and entrepreneur Jared Kushner. As per the sources from the publication, J.D. Vance could receive an invitation if the talks advance.

As noted by Politico, on April 5, Mr. Vance reached out to Pakistani General Asim Munir to talk about a plan for a 45-day truce. US President Donald Trump likewise acknowledged the Vice President's involvement in the discussions.

Donald Trump set a 48-hour deadline for Tehran, insisting on an agreement with Washington and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, he warned that he would "release chaos" on Iran. In reply, the Iranian military leadership vowed to "release chaos" upon the United States.
