Hector Obregón, CEO of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), informed VTV that the present refining capacity at its facilities is 350,000 barrels daily.

"Starting in 2024, PDVSA has been enhancing its refining capacity, indicating our investments in refineries, and currently, our capacity stands at 350,000 barrels daily. This has enabled us to generate enough gasoline and diesel to satisfy the country's needs," he stated.

He claims that in 2025 and early 2026, for the first time in many years, there will be no necessity to import fuel to satisfy domestic requirements.

He mentioned that Venezuela's present daily oil output stands at 1.23 million barrels per day.

PDVSA runs six oil refineries in Venezuela, collectively designed to have a refining capacity of about 1.3 million bpd: the Amuay (645 thousand bpd), Cardon (310 thousand bpd), and Bajo Grande (16 thousand bpd) refineries, situated in the Paraguana complex, along with the Puerto la Cruz (187 thousand bpd), El Palito (140 thousand bpd), and San Roque (5.8 thousand bpd) refineries.
