Oil production in the largest oil and gas producing regions of the United States, a significant part of which is shale oil, will decrease in September compared to the current month by 19 thousand barrels per day, or 0.25%, to 7.558 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the country forecasts.

At the same time, the largest decline in production is expected at the Eagle Ford field - by 14 thousand, to 1.085 million barrels per day, and at Anadarko - by 13 thousand. EIA predicts a smaller decline in the Niobrara and Appalachia fields - by 5 and 1 thousand barrels per day, to 595 and 114 thousand barrels per day, respectively.

Production at Haynesville, according to EIA, in September will remain at the level of 36 thousand barrels per day.

At the same time, the ministry predicts an increase in production at the Permian and Bakken fields by 7 thousand barrels per day, to 4.154 and 1.191 million barrels, respectively.

EIA also expects a total reduction of 421 million cubic feet of gas production in all these fields in September, to 79.263 billion.

Also, according to the EIA, the total number of uncompleted wells (drilled but uncompleted wells, DUC) in the fields of the largest oil and gas producing regions of the United States in July increased by 30 compared to the previous month, to 7685. A large DUC reserve could allow American producers to quickly and scale up production in the face of rising oil prices, regardless of the pace of drilling activity.
