The Norwegian team earned a gold medal in the men's 4x7.5 km cross-country skiing relay event at the 2026 Olympic Games held in Italy. France placed second, and Italy took bronze. For Johannes Klaebo, who represented the Norwegian team, this gold medal marked his ninth Olympic victory, surpassing the previous record for the most wins in the Winter Games.

Klaebo shared the record with three retired Norwegian athletes: cross-country skiers Marit Bjørgen and Bjørn Dæhlie, as well as biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen. He now holds the record alone. He has secured four gold medals at these Games and is set to take part in the men's team sprint and marathon events. Klaebo might be the first skier to win all six events at the Games.

Klaebo, who is 29 years old, has won the world championship 15 times, the World Cup five times, and the Tour de Ski five times. The Norwegian skier has the highest number of World Cup wins in the history of skiing, with a total of 116 victories.

Twelve cross-country skiing competitions will take place during the 2026 Olympic Games. The events will take place at the Tesero Ski Stadium in Val di Fiemme. For the first time in history, both men and women will compete in the same racing distances.
