Nestle's factory in Yangon's business district and its headquarters "will discontinue operations" due to the "current economic scenario," the company’s spokesperson informed the agency.

Nestle sells Milo chocolate malt beverages, Maggi noodles, and Nescafe instant coffee in Myanmar. According to the statement, the regional distributor will now market and sell Nestle goods from Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

On February 1, 2021, the armed forces of Myanmar overthrew the civilian administration and seized power, detaining civilian leaders in the process.
