The current president of France Emmanuel Macron received 27.84% of the votes during the first round of the presidential election. The results of the processing of 100% of the vote are shown on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country. The first round was held on April 10th.

The main competitor of Macron, the leader of the National Rally party Marine Le Pen, received 23.15% of the votes and took second place. The third line is taken by the head of the Socialist Party Jean-Luc Melenchon with 21.95% of votes.

The United States fears that the victory of Le Pen may destabilize the Western coalition against Russia, previously wrote Politico. This can undermine the role of France as a leading European power and to force other NATO members to abandon the membership in the Alliance, the newspaper’s analysts believe.
