EU Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas verified in a discussion with Euronews the European Commission's (EC) intentions to halt trade clauses of the Association Agreement with Israel due to military activities in the Gaza Strip and Israeli actions in the West Bank.

Kallas believes this might entail eliminating the preferential treatment for several Israeli products brought into the EU.

As reported by Euronews, 37% of the value of Israeli goods exported to the EU benefit from preferential treatment.

A qualified majority of votes will be necessary to endorse this decision among EU member states.

In this context, the television channel mentions the outline of European actions concerning Israel's commerce with the EU, revealed last week by EC President Ursula von der Leyen. The EC is anticipated to release a proposal for actions on September 17.
