JD.com is considering buying British online retailer The Very Group for $2.7 billion

Chinese internet giant JD.com is exploring the acquisition of British online retailer The Very Group for £2 billion ($2.69 billion), according to Sky News, which references sources.

A representative from JD.com chose not to address the rumors, and The Very Group also opted not to comment.

The Very Group, established in 2005, was purchased by investment company Carlyle in November 2025. In January, reports from the media suggested that Carlyle was ready to sell the asset.

JD.com stock dropped 1.5% in Hong Kong on Monday. The market value of the company has risen by 9.1% since the beginning of the year.
