The location of the company's new chip facility is being evaluated in a number of nations, according to Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, who spoke to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
The decision must be taken by the end of the year.
Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, stated during a press conference in December that she thought Intel's investment in Italy was strategically significant and that she would set up a meeting with the business to discuss how to make the investment easier.
