The IMF Executive Board approved a new agreement to extend the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for a period of 48 months, with a total amount of 5.9 billion Special Drawing Rights, which is roughly equivalent to $8.1 billion or 295% of the quota. The agreement also includes an immediate disbursement of approximately $1.5 billion, as stated in a release published on the IMF's website.

This funding is included in a $136.5 billion international assistance program for Ukraine.

According to the statement, "the approval of the EFF will help Ukraine gain access to significant concessional financing from international donors and its partners."

Furthermore, the shortfall of $136.5 billion in financing is anticipated to be addressed during the four-year program period with the help of active support from donors and the reduction of debt.

It is noted that in 2026, the $52 billion gap will be addressed through disbursements under EU mechanisms, G7 financing, bilateral support, and the recently approved IMF-supported program.
