As reported by Météo-France, temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) were noted at least once in 45% of France, while temperatures over 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) were documented at least once in 90% of the nation.
This year, France has experienced three summer heat waves that have persisted for a total of 53 days, setting a new record. In 2022, it stood at 33 days.
The former record for the warmest summer in France was set in 2003.
