Fox Corp., founded by billionaire Rupert Murdoch, is purchasing the streaming service Roku for around $22 billion, as reported by the media giant's press office.

The agreement is anticipated to finalize in the initial half of 2027 and requires approval from U.S. antitrust regulators.

Fox will compensate $160 for each Roku share ($96 in cash and 0.9693 Fox Class A shares for every Roku share).

As a consequence of the agreement, Fox Corp.'s channels for sports, news, and entertainment will merge with the Roku platform, which boasts more than 100 million subscribers. As per a joint press release from Fox Corp. and Roku, the merged entity will establish itself as the third-biggest participant in U.S. television based on viewership.
