The newspaper reports that the industry association is set to stage a protest in Brussels on September 7, where attendees will transport 10 symbolic coffins around the headquarters of the European Commission marked with the phrases "EU Competitiveness," "Industrial Jobs," and "European Factories."

Eurometal President Alexander Julius told The Guardian: "China doesn't want to be a supplier of raw materials; it wants to be a supplier of finished products."

He states that the aim of the industrialists is to demonstrate to the European Commission the extent of the effect that Chinese exports have at the component level, such as metals and chemicals, which are utilized in 90% of Europe’s manufacturing sector, according to the publication.

Julius condemned European politicians for recognizing the crisis's effects while failing to tackle its root causes: "Examine the employment decline in Germany. The media and politicians recognize the effects, yet they do not combat the virus responsible for them. They fail to comprehend why this is occurring and do not inquire why firms are either relocating to China or India or facing bankruptcy," he stated.
