American chemical firm DuPont de Nemours Inc. has decreased its revenue forecast for the year because of the divestiture of its aramid fiber division and the separation of its electronics materials sector.

The firm now anticipates earnings of $6.87 billion this year, a decrease from its earlier forecast of $12.85 billion, based on a company announcement.

For the third quarter, the updated prediction indicates revenue of $2.98 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $1.06 (previously projected at $3.32 billion and $1.15, respectively).

DuPont anticipates a revenue increase of 3-4% each year until 2028, along with adjusted earnings growth of 8-10%.

At the close of August, DuPont consented to sell its aramid fiber division to Arclin for $1.8 billion. The firm aims to finalize the separation of its electronics division, which encompasses its chip materials sector, by November 1.
