The strategy sets a target to improve the structure of consumer goods by 2027. It identifies three major consumer areas, each valued at 1 trillion yuan ($141.2 billion), and ten other consumer areas, each valued at 100 billion yuan.

Under the plan, the consumer sector is expected to play an increasingly important role in driving China's economic growth up to 2030.

The plan includes 19 main actions, such as the full use of artificial intelligence technologies, greater financial backing, and the introduction of new products, including environmentally friendly options.

Additionally, the plan emphasizes addressing the specific needs of various groups in society. This involves expanding product choices for infants and children, as well as items that are suitable for the elderly.
