China's production of humanoid robots may exceed 100,000 by 2026

According to Gan Xiaobin, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's humanoid robot production might surpass 100,000 units by 2026. According to Xinhua, he announced it during a press conference prior to the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC).

He mentioned that the progress of AI-driven applications and ecosystems is energizing the fast-evolving robotics sector, giving a strong boost to the nation's growth.

He claims that the adoption rate of AI applications in large industrial companies in China has surpassed 30%.

The WAIC will take place in Shanghai from July 17 to 20 with the theme "AI Partnership for a Brighter Future." The conference will feature six primary segments, with more than 1,100 companies signed up to take part.

The event is anticipated to showcase more than 3,000 exhibits, featuring over 300 products that will be launched globally.
