“This plan consists of three parts: research related to (developing) a vaccine and other treatments, conducting clinical trials and developing testing and modeling at the national level,” said Trudeau.

The Canadian Prime Minister added that it would take months to develop and test the vaccine. Prior to this, several intermediate measures will need to be taken in the country to combat the spread of the virus. In particular, it is planned to increase the number of tests for coronavirus. They will also begin testing for antibodies and immunity to COVID-19.

In Canada, more than 40 thousand patients with coronavirus have been identified, more than 2 thousand people died. In total, more than 2.7 million cases of virus infection have been registered in the world, over 190 thousand died.
