As per the channel's sources, US officials conducted a briefing to consider potential military operations against Cuba. Nonetheless, representatives from the department stressed that conducting consultations does not indicate that the leadership has made a decision to initiate such an operation.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US favors a diplomatic strategy for regime change in Cuba, but the existing government "still rejects reform."

CBS highlights that Cuba's procurement of attack drones of unidentified origin is mentioned as one of the factors for the potential military operation. Simultaneously, US intelligence does not view Cuba as an autonomous strategic danger.

Executing an operation against Cuba might present difficulties for the Pentagon since a significant portion of the US military's focus and offensive strength is currently directed at the Middle East, CBS noted.
