“I will raise taxes for those who receive more than $ 400 thousand. Why? Because the time has come for them to start paying their share of the economic responsibilities that we have. I am not punishing anyone. The rich have to do their fair share, corporations have to do their share,” Mr. Biden said in an interview with ABC. When asked whether new taxes will be introduced for those who earn less than $ 400 thousand, he replied that this is “not necessary.”

This is Joe Biden's first interview as a presidential candidate. He also criticized his Republican rival, incumbent President Donald Trump. Mr. Biden called him incompetent. According to the Democratic candidate, the head of state has avoided solving problems with COVID-19. Joe Biden himself intends to win the election without traveling around the country and crowded gatherings of his supporters amid the pandemic.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 3. The incumbent President Donald Trump, according to polls, has slightly less support than Mr. Biden. The Democratic nominee confirmed Kamala Harris as vice presidential nominee.
