Sources indicated that the university’s endowment fund is currently in an advanced phase of negotiations regarding the sale of these assets. The portfolio is anticipated to be sold at a discount of under 10 percent, although prospective purchasers have appraised certain components at a 15 percent discount.
Yale has not yet sold a substantial volume of private equity assets in the secondary market.
As of 30 June the previous year, the university’s investments in venture capital funds surpassed $10bn, as did its holdings in leveraged buyout funds
