58% of the US population supports the UN recognition of the state of Palestine

An Ipsos poll carried out from August 13-18 among 4,446 US citizens reveals that approximately 58% of Americans favor recognition of the state of Palestine by all UN member states.

33% of those surveyed opposed acknowledging the Palestinian state, while the remainder found it difficult to respond.

74% of those surveyed favor the acknowledgment of Israel by all UN nations, 17% oppose this concept, and 9% refrained from voting.

Among other factors, 65% of those surveyed feel that the US ought to intervene in the Gaza Strip to address hunger, while 28% oppose this notion, and 7% chose not to respond.

59% of Americans deemed the Israeli military's actions in Gaza as excessive, 33% disagreed with that view, and 8% did not take a stance.

Previously, Great Britain, Canada, and France disclosed their intentions to acknowledge the state of Palestine during the UN General Assembly in the autumn.
