The organization will divide into multiple autonomous entities. Alongside the American pharmacy chain Walgreens, there is the British chain Boots Group, which offers healthcare services through Shields Health Solutions, focuses on home health care with CareCentrix, and operates a network of therapeutic clinics called VillageMD.

Mike Motz, who formerly led the American retail sector of Staples, will be the new CEO of Walgreens. Tim Wentworth, who has led the merged company since 2023, will be appointed to Walgreens’ board of directors.

The agreement to acquire Walgreens for $10 billion was revealed in March of this year. The firm’s stocks ceased trading on the stock market.
