The company that creates and develops flying cars, Alef Aeronautics, has announced that it has received a special airworthiness certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration. This is the first time the US government gives its official approval for a vehicle of this kind.

The all-electric Model A sports car, which was unveiled in October, has the ability to take off and land vertically, allowing it to travel both on the ground and in the air, according to Alef.

A policy regarding these modes of transportation and how they interact with terrestrial infrastructure is currently being developed by the FAA. The state certificate restricts the locations and uses for which Alef's vehicle may fly.
