Twitter founder Jack Dorsey's first tweet was sold as an NFT token for $2.9 million, the deal was recorded on auction platform Valuables.

"Hi Jack. Thank you for accepting my offer. I'm glad this money will go to charity," Estavi tweeted. Earlier, Jack Dorsey promised to direct the money from his first tweet to help countries in Africa fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Jack Dorsey auctioned off his first tweet on March 6, 2021. In the first two hours, the offered price for the NFT token for Dorsey's tweet reached $1 million. Following the founder of Twitter, Tesla founder Elon Musk decided to sell an NFT token for his work of art. He planned to auction off a song about the non-interchangeable tokens.

Buying an NFT token gives an opportunity to purchase a digital work of art or any other virtual object and receive proof of ownership. An NFT token is a unique digital asset that cannot be faked or replaced.

In mid-March, several users of digital art selling platform Nifty Gateway complained about their accounts being hacked and money stolen. The service denied the hacking and attributed the theft to users' own carelessness.
