Two transactions resulted in the increase in stakes. Longmarch, which owns 3.86% of Pirelli, was purchased by MTP from a Chinese holding. Concurrently, Camfin SpA, a subsidiary of MTP, purchased a 2.8% share from an additional investor.

MTP reminds readers that Brembo, a producer of car brake systems, owns 6% of Pirelli's shares and is required to coordinate its stance at board meetings with the company's Italian owners. Therefore, it is possible to calculate the overall "Italian influence" on Pirelli board decisions at 26.58%.

The largest shareholder remains an investment company owned by the Chinese holding Sinochem - Marco Polo Int. Italy - with a stake of 37.01%. Silk Road Fund disposes of 9.02% of the tire maker's shares. Institutional investors own 23.7% of Pirelli securities, and another 3.69% belongs to retailers and other shareholders.
