The British government announced in a statement that former Prime Minister David Cameron has been named the nation's new foreign secretary. James Cleverly, a former head of the British Foreign Office, has been appointed Home Secretary.

The personnel reshuffle within the British government occurred following Suella Braverman's dismissal as the head of the British Interior Ministry.

She criticized the London police in a column in The Times for being more lax in their handling of "left-wing" protests than "right-wing" ones. In that column, Braverman berated the police for their conduct on Armistice Day during a pro-Palestinian demonstration.

Then, according to Sky News, Braverman was accused of jeopardizing public safety and her dismissal was demanded. Specifically, London Mayor Sadiq Khan stated in a post on The Mirror that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak "should sack her".
