Apple Watch debuts at luxury retailers
Technology company Apple’s new trophy product, Apple Watch is released to select customers who pre-ordered the device.

According to analyst records, nearly 1 million watches have been released to the company’s devout customer base through a pre-order process. The smartwatch that starts at $350 is not available at the Apple stores and could be bought only from luxury retailer in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris, Berlin and London. The company is reaching out to luxury retailers for the first time and is making the differentiation for this device with stores such as Colette, Galaries Lafayette, Dover Street Market, Selfridges,  Maxfield and The Corner showcasing the watch from today.

The watch will be released in the Apple stores and online only in June, a move intended to increase anticipation for the device. Consumers receiving their Watch this weekend likely placed their orders when Apple made the Watch available online, during the early hours of April 10. According to early Analyst estimates, at least 5 million  watches may be sold this year, mostly in the fourth quarter.

The watch is now available in nine countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US. The Watch is categorized into three collections: Apple Watch Sport priced at $349 to $399, Apple Watch available from $549 to $1,099 and Apple Watch Edition, which has yellow 18-karat gold alloys with prices starting at $10,000. Apple plans to launch limited numbers of the $10,000 premium watch and step into the luxury market.
